  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is expected to discuss the cooperation between the two countries with the leaders of the country.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud paid an encouraging visit to the battle lines against the Khawarij in Harardhere & Eeldhere districts.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has promoted the soldiers and officers who served in the defense of the Harardhere districy which was liberated from the Kharijites Al Shabab.

 

  • The Federal Parliament of Somalia approved by a majority vote the review and amendment of the four chapters of the Provisional Constitution.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has signed the official version of the four chapters of the Somali Constitution passed by the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre praised the Federal Parliament’s move to approve the first 4 chapters of the Constitution.

 

  • The Cabinet has approved the appointment of the new Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Abdullahi Mohamed Ali (Sambalolshe), following the resignation of the former Director Mahad Mohamed Salad.

 

  • The Cabinet of the Federal Republic of Somalia has decided to close the Ethiopian consulates in Hargeisa and Garowe, and at the same time ordered the Ethiopian ambassador to Somalia to return to his country for consultation.

 

  • President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a farewell meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Feng Shengchao whose tenure has ended.

  • The Cabinet of the Federal Republic of Somalia has approved an agreement on oil and gas production between Somalia and Turkey.

 

  • The Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia Mr. Salah Ahmed Jama had a meeting with the British Ambassador to Somalia Mike Nithavrianakis, where they discussed the relations and cooperation between the two countries.

 

  • The Somali people in various districts and the regions in Somalia have greatly welcomed the approval of the four chapters of the Constitution passed by the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

 

  • The Minister of Interior, Federal and Reconciliation, Mr. Ahmed Maallim Fiqi, met with the Director of the United Nations Integrated Electoral Support Group (IESG), Mr. Deryck Fritz, in his office.

 

  • The Minister of Finance of Somalia Mr. Bihi Iman Ige had a meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden to Somalia Mr. Joachim Waern.

 

  • The Minister of Planning of Somalia, Mr. Mohamud Abdirahman Sheikh Farah, had a meeting with a delegation from the African Development Bank.

 

  • The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Fardowsa Osman Igaal inaugurated the headquarters of the Somali Civil Aviation Authority which has been rebuilt.

 

  • The Somali Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Jibril Ibrahim Abdulle met with the Algerian Ambassador for Somalia Mahi Boumediene in Nairobi.

 

  • The Governor of Banadir Region and the Mayor of Mogadishu, Mr. Yusuf Hussein Jimale (Madaale) has warned the businessmen from importing narcotics into the country.

 

  • The Somali National Disaster Management Agency, SoDMA, has issued warnings related to the spring rains that are expected to hit the country in the coming days.

 

  • Somali National Forces have killed more than 80 Kharijites militiamen were killed in operations carried out in Mudug, Middle Shabelle and Bakool regions.

 

  • The Minister of Defense of Somalia, Mr. Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur, and the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Feng Shengchao, discussed the strengthening of cooperation in the fields of security and fighting terrorism.

 

  • The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has arrested two Kharijites conspirators who wanted to commit acts of insecurity in Mogadishu.

 

  • The Ambassador of Somalia to Kenya Mr. Jibril Ibrahim Abdulle has hosted the international diplomats in Nairobi for an Iftar.

 

  • The Chairman of the Somali Disaster Management Agency, Mohamud Macallin Abdulle, had a meeting with the Deputy Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Somalia and the Humanitarian Aid Coordinator, George Conway.

 

  • One of the team leaders of the Kharijites Al Shabab, Ismail Hassan Ali, has surrendered to the Xinlabi local defense forces in Mudug region.
